India has an acute shortage of blood donors, considering that our country needs an average of 5 crore units of blood every year. At our current pace, our healthcare system can only meet half of this amount. This crisis can only be overcome by responsible, socially conscious donors regularly donating blood to save lives.

But that’s not the only way that blood donors can save lives. Science has proven that donating blood has several health benefits for the donor – the kind that could prevent life threatening ailments. Some of these benefits are:

  • Reduced risk of heart attack by upto 88%
  • Reduced risk of life threatening ailments like cancer, stroke, and more.
  • Increased production of healthy, new blood cells in the donor

CII-YI is deeply concerned by the ever increasing shortage of blood in Indian hospitals, and aspires to create awareness about the benefits of blood donation to improve the state of health for all.

That is why, on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, we are conducting an awareness campaign to encourage first time donors to do the right thing – both for themselves, and the countless patients in desperate need of blood.

Donate today. Both your conscience and body will thank you for it.

Donate your blood on the 14th, 15th, or 16th of June at any of our partner health providers.
