Young Indians is a unique example of an organisation with Peer Leadership. Here, entrepreneurs, professionals and corporate leaders come together, united with an agenda of a better India. Each chapter of Yi has a Chair and a Cochair identified by the national leadership from its membership. They then identify champions from within to head various verticals and projects.

At Yi Bangalore we have also created a Management Committee comprising of senior members from our team who guide and mentor our chapter.

Membership & Engagement

The membership vertical within Yi works on twin objectives of onboarding members and engaging with them once they have joined the chapter.

Apart from organising regular member meets , the vertical also looks at championing and coordinating special interest groups within our chapter. This year the vertical has taken on 2 specific initiatives ; MILAAP – this is a session where both senior and new members share their life story. This has allowed members to know one other beyond their CV’s and understand their persona better.

Swachh Bharath

The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on the occasion of the Indian Independence Day made a clarion call for Swachh Bharat, a mass movement to create awareness of cleanliness and hygiene. He said that a clean India is the best tribute that we could pay Mahatma Gandhi when we celebrate his 150th birth anniversary in 2019.

Yi through various initiatives looks to contribute in our own way to align with Government of India’s Swachh Bharat Mission for a clean and healthy India by 2019.
